Storefront travel agencies are obsolete. 95% of the public book their vacations on line, even cruised, honeymoons, excursions, etc. A friend of mine worked for Liberty Travel for 30 years. At the age of 55, he found himself the owner of a suburban house with a mortgage, two kids in high school...and unemployed. I don't give Liberty one year in this space and feel badly for non-corporate travel agents, who should re-tool for another profession.
And, have you seen Liberty Travel's advertisements? They buy the back page of the NY Times travel section every Sunday to advertise bulk travel packages to cheesy resorts. They also display a rainbow flag emblem, as if to say "hey, we're the officially sanctioned travel agency of the gay liberation movement."
